CONFERENCE "ROBOTIC EXPLORATION OF SOLAR SYSTEM"

Inside The Solar System conference series organized by Fundación March, Héctor Guerrero Padrón will give the conference "Robotic Exploration of solar System". It will take place in salón de actos of foundation's head office in C/Castelló, 77 at 19.30 h. Free entrance.

BOOK PRESENTATION "A TRAVELERS GUIDE TO MARS"

Next November 22st at 19:30 h., the presentation of the book "A traveler's guide to Mars" by William K. Hartmann will took place in the Agrupación Astronómica de Madrid's head office (C/Albendiego,22). In this presentation will assist Francisco Anguita (prologue writer and retired professor in Planetary Sciences in the UCM), David Galadí (Akal Astronomy Collection's head) y Pilar Carceller (Akal Editions).

THE MOSCOW SOLAR SYSTEM SYMPOSIUM (2M-S3)

Starting from 2010, the Space Research Institute (IKI) from Russian Academy of Sciences, holds annual international symposia on Solar system exploration. The second Moscow international Solar System Symposium (2M-S3) will take place from October 10 till 14,  2011. More information in this link.

MAGNETOMETER WORKSHOP 2011

Scholars of 12 scientific institutions all over the world have work together during the celebration in Sigüenza (Guadalajara, Spain) of the IV Magnetometer Workshop between July 18st and 22st.The results and talks are available under request.

RADECS 2011

(Rusia Hoy-Lésia Belanenko). On July 13th it took place a scientific conference in San Lorenzo de El Escorial, entitled “Mars and society” in which researchers from 10 different countries met. It was organized by Universidad Complutense de Madrid and Instituto Nacional de Técnica Aeroespacial (INTA) with the help of Russian Official Foundation for International Cooperation, Rossotrúdnichestvo.+info

SPACE WEEK

The week was organized by Roscosmos space, Space Agency of the Russian Federation, the Russian Academy of Sciences and several companies in the space sector industry. It had a large sample of past and present of the best Russian Cosmonautics, leading us to be actors in the main legendary achievements that marked the rhythm of the space race.

Featured panel discussions and plenary sessions, and took place thanks to the participation of Russia and spanishexperts.

CONFERENCE OF OLIVIER WITASSE

On March 3 at 3:30 pm Dr. Olivier Witasse, ESA-ESTEC (European Space Research and Technology Center), gave a lecture entitled "The Exploration of Mars by the European Space Agency." It took place in the Hall of Grades 1st floor, central module of the Faculty of CC. Physics. This conference was part of the series of seminars of Geophysics, oranizados by the Master of Geophysics and Meteorology of the UCM. +info

 

MARS ON THE CLOUD: CLOUD COMPUTING FOR THE MARS EXPLORATION

After the last meeting of the Metnet Group that was hold in Helsinki, the latest results from the Phobos tracing application were presented to the Scientific Team. In this work Amazon Public Cloud was used as already NASA did a year after Mars Metnet. As a result of the meeting, another application was assigned for its Cloud porting. This application processes meteorological data from previous Mars Missions and it will be used for data provided by the future Mars MetNet probes.

Additionally, an article with the complete achievements of this meeting has been featured by “HPC in the Cloud”. You can read it  here.
